Nissan adds off-road focussed Navara Warrior to offering
Nissan expands Navara offering with top of the range Warrior derivative
The Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior represents the ultimate iteration of the brand’s double cab and is a bakkie that has been purpose built for the most demanding on and off-road conditions the country has to offer.
Nissan teamed up with Premcar, an Australian engineering partner to give the Navara Warrior added performance, greater utility and a more rugged design.
The Warrior conversion creates the toughest and most durable Navara yet, while raising the models standards for off-road capability and performance. The Navara Warrior meets Africa’s demand for vehicles that are capable of handling the roughest roads while remaining refined and comfortable enough to drive every day.
Under the bonnet
Under the bonnet the Navara Warrior retains its powerful 2.5-litre DDTi high-output diesel engine that offers 140kW and 450Nm. The high torque output at low rpm characteristic of this engine makes it perfectly suited to effective towing and off-road driving. This engine is paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission as well as 4WD.
Upgraded suspension
The Nissan Navara Warrior rides on upgraded suspension that offers increased ride height and revised damping with the aim of ensuring maximum wheel articulation and control. Ground clearance has been increased from 221mm to 232mm.
In addition, improved front and rear track widths enhance stability over rough terrain. The fitment of LT 275/65/R17 MAXXIS RAZR all-terrain tyres, ensures superior traction and durability when tackling serious off-road obstacles, while maintaining exceptional comfort under normal road conditions.
Stylish cosmetic upgrades
The Warrior is differentiated by numerous aggressive styling cues, including a blacked-out front grille, door handles, as well as the addition of red accents and a roof rack, side steps, black off-road wheels and the iconic black and red Nissan badge.
The interior gains black Warrior branded seats featuring red contrast stitching, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a configurable seven-inch driver assist display and dual-zone climate control that all combine to ensure a sense of premium modernity and appealing comfort.
Reliable safety comes standard
The Nissan Navara Warrior is loaded with an array of advanced safety features including Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility suite, which includes forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and an intelligent around-view monitor with an off-road mode that delivers a complete bird’s eye view of the vehicle’s surroundings.
Occupant safety is also taken care of by a comprehensive airbag system, including side-impact and curtain airbags. Hill descent control and hill start assist help to maintain sure-footed handling on tricky inclines.
Warranty and pricing
The Nissan Navara Warrior is sold with the same six-year/150 000km warranty as regular Navara models, which now also covers all the additional equipment and modifications.
The Nissan Navara Pro-4X carries a price tag of R924 000 and is available at dealerships nationwide.
