New Nissan Magnite goes on sale in South Africa
New Nissan Magnite launches in SA with two engine options
The new Nissan Magnite, which was launched globally only a month ago, has gone on sale in South Africa with bold new styling, an improved interior with additional tech, advanced safety features and a choice of two well-performing 1.0 litre engines.
Bold styling
Updated styling ensures a striking design which is accentuated by the addition of LED lights front and rear, alloy wheels and roof rails.
Advanced tech
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the new Magnite can comfortably carry up to five passengers. The interior has been updated with a configurable TFT driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration as well as four colour ambient lighting
New features
Model specific new features include the innovative remote engine start, and the walkaway lock and approach unlock function, a cooled glove box and on-board ioniser which cleans interior air and is a great feature for those motorists and passengers who suffer from allergies or respiratory conditions. An around view monitor offers a bird’s eye view of the car, relieving all the stress of parking in tight spaces.
Inherent safety
The Magnite’s bodyshell has been constructed using high-tensile steel for impressive structural integrity and features six airbags across the range.
Efficient performance
The Nissan Magnite is offered with two 1.0 litre engine variants. Paired with either a manual, automated manual or continuously variable transmission.
The 999cc, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine offers 53kW at 6 250rpm and 96Nm at 3 500rpm and will use just 5,9 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.
The 999cc, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine ups the ante with 74kW at 5 000rpm and 152Nm between 2 200 and 4 400rpm. This engine will use just 5,27 litres per 100km on the combined cycle and represents a great balance between performance and fuel economy.
Independent MacPherson strut suspension with anti-roll bars and rebound springs upfront and semi-independent coil spring suspension at the rear ensures a comfortable, calm driving experience.
Comprehensively specced model range
Visia models are fitted with six-airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Tyre pressure monitoring sensors, electrically adjustable side mirrors, a speed-sensing lock, multi-function steering controls, automatic air conditioning, a shark fin antenna, 16-inch steel wheels with covers and roof rails.
Acenta models build on this specification with the addition of an eight-inch touch-screen infotainment system with a floating design that offers Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a frameless auto dimming mirror, front LED fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, approach unlock and walk-away closing, keyless Start/Stop, a seven-inch TFT info screen and a plasma air purifier.
