New Nissan Navara goes on sale

Extensively refreshed and locally built Navara now available at dealerships

The new, locally-produced, Nissan Navara is now available at Nissan dealerships countrywide featuring significant technical and cosmetic upgrades including enhancements that ensure it meets the highest global quality standards while also being adapted to local conditions.

The 2021 Navara includes developments in styling, technology, safety and overall performance resulting in an improved driving experience, better ride quality and enhanced load carrying capacity.

Hey good looking

The Navara is well liked for its rugged looks, robust capabilities, reliability and versatility, making it one of the most anticipated models within the Nissan line-up.

The new Navara features a V-Motion identity, an over-fender for Pro-4X models, redesigned wheels and increased bed height as well as new LED headlamps and fog lamps.

Interior improvements

Inside the new Navara boasts an infotainment system featuring NissanConnect and an 8-inch touchscreen, which features the Navi app. The steering wheel has been restyled and the seats have been redesigned for improved comfort before being covered in either cloth or leather. Connectivity is guaranteed thanks to Bluetooth, four USB ports, including two quick charging ports and three 12V power outlets.

Ready for work or play

Customers can choose between two engine options in various levels of tune, which meets the requirements for low running costs, reliability and performance. The 2.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine engine is available in two output levels, the high output, available on higher-grade models boasts 140kW and 450Nm while the mid-output model produces 120kW and 403Nm. The 2.5-litre petrol engine offers 118kW and 233Nm, but is only available on the entry-level XE Single Cab models. There are two transmission options, a seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual.

The new Navara is not afraid to get its hands dirty. Bed dimensions have increased and suspension has been beefed up to ensure better posture even under heavy loads. The chassis and powertrain have been adapted for better towing performance and trailer sway control added as a standard feature to improve stability.

Drivetrain components including the steering system, tyres, and suspension have all been extensively refined.

Safety upgrades

The inclusion of Nissan Intelligent Mobility makes the Navara range the safest and most technologically advanced Nissan model yet. Intelligent driving tools can be paired with additional driver assistance that help drivers see more, sense more and take swifter action. This includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, which monitors sudden movements of up to two vehicles ahead and alerts the driver of potential risk. This compliments the Intelligent Emergency Braking feature, which will activate the brakes if the driver does not respond, something that is particularly useful in urban traffic situations.

Lengthy trips are made safer by the Intelligent Driver Alert system that supports safety and convenience with visual and audible alerts that encourage the driver to take a break. At night, Intelligent High Beam Assist automatically switches from high to low beam when it detects an oncoming vehicle.

The Intelligent around view monitor uses four cameras to help drivers notice people and cars surrounding the vehicle and is also particularly useful when hooking up a trailer. Rear Cross Traffic alert warns drivers of potential collisions when reversing.

The cherry on the safety cake is the addition of side and curtain airbags, bringing the total number of airbags to seven.
