Nissan Ariya Nismo goes on sale in Japan

NISMO’s flagship SUV ready to hit the streets of Tokyo

Nissan has launched the Ariya Nismo, which was first unveiled at Tokyo Auto Salon earlier this year, ahead of the planned sales commencement in Japan from June this year.

This stylish and futuristic crossover SUV is NISMO’s flagship EV model and offers a combination of powerful acceleration, a spacious cabin and the quiet operation unique to electric vehicles.

Focussed performance upgrades

The NISMO treatment further enhances the speed, comfort and handling of the Ariya e-4ORCE.

The Ariya Nismo will be available in two models, including the B6 e-4ORCE which features a 66kWh battery and produces 270kW and 560Nm of torque. The more powerful B9 e-4ORCE is fitted with a 91kWh battery which allows it to generate a peak output of 320kW along with 600Nm of torque. The NISMO tuning focussed on producing acceleration that is powerful, smooth and easy to control. The selection of an exclusive NISMO driving mode maximises response when even greater performance is desired.

Additional NISMO hardware includes performance focussed brake pads that ensure stopping power across a wide range of temperatures and aluminium wheels that strike a perfect balance between width and weight to ensure superior aerodynamics and cornering ability.

Chassis enhancements are centred around optimised front and rear suspension performance with the NISMO tuned e-4ORCE providing outstanding traction in all conditions as well as sports car like handling when required.

Sporty exterior styling

The exterior is a combination of the Ariya’s premium quality along with the addition of  NISMO’s aerodynamic enhancements. Equipped with exclusive bumpers, rear spoilers and door mouldings, the stylish design reduces drag and generates greater downforce at higher speeds.

The Ariya NISMO’s bodywork is finished in six colours, including an exclusive NISMO Stealth Gray with a blacked-out roof.

Performance centric interior

A black themed interior with spicy red accents gives the cabin a sporty, high-quality appearance. Specially developed NISMO seats feature additional bolstering support that ensures a closer connection between the car and driver.

The activation of NISMO mode in vehicles equipped with the NISMO-exclusive BOSE Premium Sound system delivers a sound similar to that of a Formula E racing car.

Local availability

The Nissan Ariya as well as derivatives such as the Ariya NISMO are yet to be confirmed for South African introduction.
