Nissan expands Navara range with new entry level model

Nissan unveils new badge for expanded Navara range

Nissan South Africa is widening the appeal of its Navara range with the launch of two new double cab models. These two new models have been added at the bottom of the existing range and offer exceptional value as well as all the performance, durability and driving comfort that the Navara is known for.

With the introduction of this new entry-level specification, Nissan are making the Navara available to more South Africans.
This new model will carry the Navara XE badge and will be available with the same engine as its counterparts, although it has been tuned for mid-level performance. The Navara XE will also be available with the choice of a rear-wheel 4x2 or a 4x4 drivetrain.

2.5 Ddti performance
Nissan’s entire Navara range is powered by the durable and torquey 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine which is fitted with a common-rail direct injection system and an intelligently variable turbocharger that offers a wide range of useable power.
In the Navara XE model this engine offers 120kW at 3 600rpm and 403Nm at 2 000rpm and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission paired to either a 4x2 or a 4x4 drivetrain that can be configured via in-cabin switching between 4x2, 4x4 High and 4x4 Low range modes.

Generous levels of specification
Despite its competitive price point, the Navara XE retains generous levels of specification and modern features including central locking with speed-sensing auto-locking, air conditioning, two airbags and Isofix child seat restraints in the rear. Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) is a standard feature across the range as is Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Trailer Sway Control.
Standard creature comforts include electric windows and side mirrors, a sliding rear window for accessing the load bin, and a radio with Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted controls.

Ready for work or play
Under the skin the Navara XE utilises leaf spring rear suspension, which is a departure from the coil spring set-up used in the rest of the Navara double cab range. This does however give the XE the ability to handle tough conditions and heavy loads with ease, as it boasts a load capacity of 1 148kg on 4x2 models and 1 067kg on 4x4 derivatives. Despite these changes the Navara XE boasts the same off-road credentials in terms of ground clearance, approach, departure and breakover angles as its siblings.

A new badge for a new era
Going forward all Navara models will be fitted with a brand-new badge, which is a modern and dynamic take on the iconic emblem and symbolises the company’s forward-thinking approach and enduring commitment to innovation. The new badge is a more modern and slicker version of the well-known logo while incorporating a nod to the land of the rising sun with red accents and lettering.

A comprehensive double cab range
The addition of the XE models to the offering means that the Navara range is now one of the most comprehensive on the market, totalling 14 derivatives. The range starts with the newly launched entry-level XE models.
LE models now feature roof rails as standard while LE Plus derivatives feature premium options such as Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility suite.
The range topping Pro-2X (4x2) and Pro-4X (4x4) models offer top-tier performance and design and deliver the highest levels of comfort and safety along with unique paint options and design features.

Built in Africa for Africa
The Nissan Navara is manufactured in Rosslyn, Pretoria for over 45 markets in Africa, including left-hand drive markets, making Nissan South Africa the regional hub for Nissan’s light commercial vehicles. The Nissan Rosslyn facility is also one of the most modern of its kind thanks to an investment of R3 billion at the start of Navara production.

Peace of mind is standard across the range
All models in the Navara range are sold with a six-year/90 000km service plan and a six-year/150 000km warranty.
