Nissan looks back on 90 years of passion and innovation

In 2023 Nissan celebrated their 90th anniversary and a history of passion and innovation driven by a DNA that is personified by the slogan, “do what others don’t dare to do”.

Since its founding in 1933, this daring spirit has inspired Nissan and generations of its employees to push the boundaries of innovation, enriching people’s lives with thrilling journeys and pioneering technology to create a cleaner, safer and more inclusive world.

This celebration included a series of commemorative events. This included a dedicated logo that represents the company’s storied past and exciting future. During the year Nissan looked back on its heritage, celebrated the present and look to the future, all with a strong focus on the customers, fans, employees and communities that have supported Nissan over the last nine decades.

This celebration culminated with the unveiling of the sweetest creation. Finished in a rich hue of brown, the celebratory cake features an exquisite hand-crafted design and a rich decadent interior.

This marked the finale of a physical and digital series that explores and celebrates Nissan’s daring moments from past and present, while providing and exciting glimpse into the company’s future. 

These included:

• A special 90th anniversary exhibit at the company’s global headquarters, highlighting the full history of the company since its founding on December 26, 1933. The exhibit highlighted Nissan’s history chronologically with each segment presenting a decade of epoch-making events, pioneering technologies and notable cars along with the social context of each era.
• A ‘Daring 23’ series of social content marking the company’s activities and adventures from markets all over the world.
• A commemorative online anniversary booklet on the company’s global website.

These examples demonstrate the ways that Nissan has highlighted key moments in its history as a way to extend its appreciation to all those who have made it possible.
