Nissan expands Magnite range with Kuro derivatives
The bold new Nissan Magnite has gone on sale in South Africa and is ready to make a statement with its midnight colour scheme, advanced technology and fuel economy.
The name Kuro is derived from the Japanese word for black and not only personifies the vehicle’s bold colour scheme, but also reflect its premium quality and top-notch aesthetic.
Stand out features include new fuel efficiency technologies, an advanced driver assist display and wireless charging. State of the art around view monitors make parking and navigating rush hour traffic easier than ever before.
Unique Magnite Kuro touches include a dominating front grille, signature tail lamps and R16 Gunmetal black alloy wheels along with red callipers. Unique Kuro badging completes the exterior upgrades. The Magnite Kuro features an all-black roof and in South Africa it will be available in four exterior colours including black, white, silver and red.
The interior is all black with the dark tones complimented by features such as a front air conditioning vent with black finish and additional equipment such as a wireless charger, front arm rest, gear shift garnish and premium dark themed TFOM dashboard.
The dashboard is dominated by Nissan’s eight-inch touch operated infotainment system that offers smartphone mirroring capability, integrated audio, navigation and communication capability.

The Nissan Magnite range was recently awarded with a four-star safety rating for adult occupant safety from the Global New Car assessment Programme (GNCAP) thanks to standard safety features such as and electronic stability programme, traction control system, hill start assist a tyre pressure monitoring system, dual front airbags and three-point driver seat belts with pretensioner and load limiter. Under the bonnet is a 1.0 litre turbocharged engine that delivers 74kW and 160Nm in manual guise and 74kW and 152Nm in CVT derivatives. This engine pairs performance with frugal fuel economy. Manual models are said to use just 5,3 litres per 100km while CVT models will sip 6,0 litres per 100km.
The Nissan Magnite Kuro will be available in two derivatives. The 1.0T Kuro SV MT features a wireless charger, 16-inch black alloy wheels, a black interior and black roof rails while the Kuro SV CVT features the same specification along with the addition of a CVT transmission.
All Nissan Magnite models including the Kuro derivatives are sold with a three-year/30 000km service plan and a six year/150 000km warranty.
